Cardiology
Dr. Frank Pallares, M.D., M.Sc., F.S.C.A.I, F.A.C.C., F.A.C.A., F.R.C.P. (C), a Board Certified Specialist in Cardiology was born in Spain, fluent in Spanish and French, moved to Toronto, Canada, where he attended medical school. He received his medical degree at the University of Toronto, performed his internship and residency at St. Michaels Hospital, Wellesley Hospital, and Toronto General Hospital.
He currently belongs to: American Society of Echocardiography, American College of Cardiology, and American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology, Fellow American College of Angiology, Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, Fellow Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and in Cardiology.
He received his board certifications both in Cardiology and in Internal Medicine in Canada and the United States from 1976-1979. Dr. Pallares’s expertise is in Interventional Cardiology in which he has been hired by Scimed and Johnson & Johnson to proctor cardiologists throughout the United States in the techniques of the rotablator and the insertion of intra-coronary stents. He has also trained cardiologists in Asia and Europe.
He has been in private practice for 26 years in San Antonio, Texas and is now visiting cardiologist at CTMH, where he is currently developing a cardiac programme.

Ear, Nose & Throat
Dr James Brown, DDS, MD, FACS
is currently the Chief of Head & Neck Surgical Oncology Services
at Charles R Drew University in California. Born and schooled in Jamaica,
and after studying Dentistry
in Washington DC, Dr Brown has developed skills in his particular speciality
through working at Georgetown University Medical Center and Stanford
University School of Medicine as well as serving as a commissioned
Officer
in the Untied States Army. His regular once a month clinics here in
Cayman enable patients to access his skills for general Ear, Nose and
Throat concerns and follow-up surgical procedures.

Gynaecology and Menopause Management
Dr Verna Brooks-McKenzie is a
graduate of the University of the West Indies with Honours in Obstetrics
and Gynaecology - MB BS, Hons (O&G).
She is also Doctor of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr Brooks-McKenzie specializes in Menopause Management and Ultrasound Bone Density Scanning. She is a Certified Menopause Practitioner (USA), President of the Caribbean Menopause Society and holds membership in the International and North American Menopause Societies.
Dr Brooks McKenzie is a professional speaker on menopause
and women’s
health issues and Managing Director of the Menopause Centre of Jamaica.
Dr Brooks McKenzie has spoken at International events and conferences
around the world including; West Africa, China, Antigua, St Lucia and
Cayman as well as other Caribbean destinations.

Plastic/Reconstructive
Surgery
Dr Horace A (Tony) Jackson MB, BS, FRCS (Ed),FICS graduated from
the University of the West Indies in 1969. In 1973 Dr Jackson was
awarded
the Henry Arthur Dalziel Ferns Prize, for the best candidate in
the Fellowship Examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons of
Edinburgh.
In 1977, he was awarded a Diploma in Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive
Surgery/ Surgery of the Hand from the University of Miami/Jackson
Memorial Hospital. Since this time Dr Jackson has gained considerable
experience
working in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and
is now the Proprietor, Director and Consultant Cosmetic Surgeon
at ‘The
Plastic Surgery Centre of Jamaica’.

Urology
Dr. Joel Slutsky M.D.,F.A.C.S. is a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Slutsky trained at Rush University, Chicago, Illinois, where he is still on the University staff as an Assistant Professor of Urology, specialising in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Dr. Slutsky teaches other urologists throughout the United States. His expertise is in prostate cancer surgery, brachytherapy (the implantation of radioactive seeds into the prostate that kill cancer cells), and the new procedure called cryotherapy.
Additionally, Dr. Slutsky is also internationally known for his work in female urology, incontinence surgery and female reconstructive surgery of the pelvis.
Dr. Slutsky is a published author of scientific articles in publications such as the Journal of Urology. He has also lectured in Europe and South America on the latest techniques in Urological Surgery.
